Here is the details of my next Thailand holiday.

I would like to share with you the details of my next Thailand holiday.

There is going to be a lot of touring around on this trip, taking in as much as possible and my camera will be working overtime thats for sure!!.

I will be going alone this time which means no wife, no kids, and no luggage.

On my return I will be able to show you all my photographs, and share the wonderful places that I will visit.

Hopefully I will be able to guide you to many more money saving places to eat, sleep and drink. And be pampered of course.

Thailand holiday. Day one.

Ok so off I go, its only a short drive from my home to our new

Adelaide Airport.

As soon as I set foot in the terminal my Thailand holiday begins.

I like to fly with Singapore airways, I think their service is fantastic, they also fly direct from Adelaide to Singapore which means no domestic time wasting flights.

My flight leaves Adelaide terminal one at 13.05 and gets into Singapore Changi airport at 17.40 same day.

There is only a three hour wait at Changi, so just enough time to wander around the duty free shops.

I also like to go and see the cactus and sunflower gardens that are there.

Or to waste some time, go for a cooling swim in the airport swimming pool.

Then I leave Changi at 20.40 and arrive at the new

Suvarnabhumi Bangkok airport.

at 22.05 same day.

Both flights are on fabulous 777-200/200ER, which is a great way to fly.

As I have no luggage, its straight out and into a bus or taxi that will take me to a pre-booked place of accommodation for my first night or two.

Thailand holiday. Day two.

After a good nights sleep, I get up early ready to plan my first adventure.

I want to go visit the Killing Fields in Cambodia, so its off to the Hualamphong train station in Bangkok to familiarize myself with the station layout and book a ticket for Aranyaprathet which is close to the Cambodian border.

The journey is about 250 kms and takes about 5 and 1/2 hours.

I believe the trains are third class for this trip, which means wooden seats, but clean and comfortable, and I cannot complain at around 100 Baht.

My experiences after crossing the Cambodian border will be on my website when I return.

Good advice here is to book the early train from Bangkok at 05.55 arriving at Aranyaprathet at 11.35.

I will be returning to Bangkok on about my six or seventh day.

Thailand holiday. Day seven.

Ok once back in Bangkok I will stay the night and plan the next part of my trip which is to head north for Chiang Mai.

I will be taking the 2nd class air conditioned sleeper which will save me a nights accommodation.

Then I will probably take the express railcar for my return.

The train for this trip leaves Hualamphong station at 14.30 hrs and arrives at Chiang mai 05.30 next morning.

Nice long journey this one at a cost of about 900 Bahts one way.

I am really excited about this journey as I really enjoy long train journeys.

I think I will spend four or five days in Chiang Mai, getting back to Bangkok around day twelve.

Once again, my time spent in Chiang Mai will be on my website very soon.

Thailand holiday. Day twelve.

Once again I will stay the night in Bangkok and leave the next day heading for Chumphon and Ko Tao island.

This trip involves train and boat to Ko Tao.

Once again the train leaves Hualamphong station at 08.05 for Chumphon arriving at 14.19hrs, I am not too sure of the price as there seems to be quite a few options, but I would imagine it to be around 600 Bahts for a second class seat in the railcar.

There is a choice of ferries and boats to get accross to Ko Tao.

And yes you guessed, you have to come back to my website to see what happened in Ko Tao.

Thailand holiday. Day sixteen or so.

Wow, my holiday is starting to slip away and I want to spend some time with friends so I had better organize to slow down a bit.

So after spending some time in Ko Tao I will head back towards Bangkok.

This time however I will be getting off the train at my favourite spot

Hua Hin

where I shall relax a little, catch up with some friends and do some

fresh water Thailand fishing.

Thailand holiday. Day twenty three.

... Sigh...it will then be time to leave Hua Hin and head back to Bangkok for some last minute shopping.

I like to get back to Bangkok the day before my flight home, it saves a lot of stress.

Then the next day it will be off to the airport and home.
